Writer’s choice assignment
Question Description
Paper details:
For this assignment, I want you to reflect. Think about your own experiences and observations. How does the course theme apply to you personally? A few options to think about, though you are not limited to them:• You may wish to think about an instance in which you have felt marginalized by hegemonic norms. If so, in what ways were you marginalized? Were the effects long-lasting, and if so, how? Who or what (it may be an institution of some kind—a place of employment for example) benefitted from your marginalization? And what can or did you do to push back in order to declare you own value and agency?• You may wish to think about an instance in which you have personally benefitted from hegemonic conceptions of “normal” and “natural” but in retrospect feel this was unfair or wrong. What happened, and what ought to be done to rectify it?• You may wish to focus on just one social environment—a classroom, your home, an organization to which you belong, such as a fraternity/sorority, a church, a team—and consider how such ideas of “normal” and “natural” are implemented. Why are they enforced in the first place? Who benefits and who doesn’t? What would you change about them, and why? Please follow the materials to finish this assignment.
