Question Description

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING WORD LIMIT REQUIREMENTS:

Please note that each and every assignment has its own word limit.

Based on my observation there are four histograms, the second histogram is the distribution of means computed from the samples based on the first histogram. The third and fourth histogram allows me to specify what form of data and sample size I want to manipulate. Additionally, to observe the effect of increasing the sample size, I compared N=10, N=16, N=20, and N=25 with a reps of 5,000 each to maintain control. The trend I noticed was that the mean fluctuated by 1 digit, for example, N10=16, N16=15.99, N20=16, and N25=15.99. Whereas, the standard deviation decreases at a continuous trend, N10=1.58, N16=1.24, N20=1.12, and N25=1.01 (Rice virtual lab in statistic, 2020).

The basis behind the central limit theorem is that the sampling distribution of the samples mean will approach normal distribution if the sample size is larger. Standard error is the measurement of statistical accuracy and the standard error is equals to the standard deviation of the sample mean. The relationship between the theorem and standard error is the larger the sample size, the smaller the standard error becomes resulting in a normal distribution. This is because the N (sample size) is the denominator for standard error and as the standard error decreases the N increases (Corty, 2016).

Sampling error occurs due to statistical error where the sample does not represent the entire population. The relationship between standard error and sampling error is that standard error is part of the sampling error formula, therefore, the smaller the standard error the smaller the sampling error will be, and the larger the standard error the larger the sampling error (Corty, 2016).
