Week 9 Discussion BUS 302
Question Description
Week 9 Discussion
As a manager, you will have to control work processes and monitor performance. There are three types of controls which occurs in organizations:
- Feedforward Control-Prevents future problems.
- Concurrent Control-Collects performance in real time.
- Feedback Control-Collects performance information after a task or project is completed.
Think of your current or previous employer and describe one control system your organization uses. Then identify which type of control your organization control system falls under. Should your organization use a different type of control system? Why or Why not.
Part 2: Respond to a Peer
Read a post by one of your peers and respond, making sure to extend the conversation by asking questions, offering rich ideas, or sharing personal connections.
Below is a peer’s discussion post in which I’ll need to provide a response too.

RE: Week 9 Discussion
Hello classmates and professor,
At my current place of employment, the process that is used is Feedback Control. I think that this is a good process to monitor performance because it is best to give or get feedback after a task has been performed. This is the only way to find out if something has been done correctly or incorrectly. Even though training is provided at all placed of employment, it is sometimes hard to perform the task unless the person has already performed the task before. For me, I am a hands on type of person. I need to perform the task first. I prefer to get hands on training instead of just someone telling me how or what to do. Another process that would also work best is the Feedforward Control. With the Feedforward Control, it is hard to ensure that problems will not arise. Regardless of how much training someone has, there are times where problems will arise.
