I have a project due sunday and its about estimating and would like to get help with it i have all the documents and it wont be that hard to follow
Question Description
You are responsible for the submittal of a detailed estimate & Estimating Report. The detailed estimate is to consist of a division-by-division (CSI Masterformat 16 Cost Divisions or 50 Cost Divisions) breakdown of project costs for the project drawings distributed. The estimate must contain a cost code for each line item, a description, takeoff quantity, unit of measure, along with labor, material, and equipment costs. The estimate must be a sequentially structured, for example beginning with Division 1 and proceeding through Division 16.
The Final Project Estimating Report, as a minimum, is to consist of:
A Letter of Submittal
Title Page
An Engineering Report Executive Summary
Table of Contents
A Written Engineering Report outlining procedures and methods used, including a description of your quantity takeoff methodology & what you learned during the project.
A comprehensive, detailed list of all assumptions made
A Detailed Estimate organized to show every line item (for all cost components) estimated within the Masterformat CSI Divisions, excluding divisions that are subcontracted (MEP)
oYou must request & include subcontract quotes for mechanical, electrical & plumbing work.
A Summary Estimate table, which is clearly organized to display overall job costs for each division (material, labor, equipment), as well as job overheads and company mark-ups to obtain the total cost.
Summary Pie Charts that graphically display the percentage cost breakdown (a) by division, (b) by cost component (materials, labor, equipment), and (c) cost component per division.
An appendix of all pages used for quantity takeoff calculations (can be your hand written scratch paper but maintain a certain degree of cleanliness and organization).
The Final Project is due on by 12:00pm of the indicated date. Submissions should be provided as a single PDF file submitted to Canvas. Any reports submitted late will receive an automatic point deduction of 25%. The estimate spreadsheets can be prepared using Excel, On Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, or any other estimating software or other tool; hand written spreadsheets are unacceptable. Hand-written calculations and work-up documents are acceptable these should be scanned and included in the report as an appendix.
During your estimate you may encounter unfamiliar project components. The best way to overcome this type of obstacle is to visit the Library or search the Internet, which have a wealth of literature and references that give clarification to the construction of a host of building systems. Remember, I am available to help you. However, this project is intended to simulate real construction practice so please use your construction engineering judgment, available resources, and best “guess” logical assumptions to overcome difficulties and uncertainties.
NOTE:
25% of your Semester Project grade is assigned to organization, cleanliness, and presentation of the information. Your Estimating Report must be of professional-level quality to receive full credit.
