I have selected BurgerKing for this assessment. It is an American Fast Food Company, which has many competitors such as Wendy’s , McDonald’s, Popeyes, and Sonic to name a few. I would consider it an oligopoly competition because there are many competitors in the market resulting in a big market share. BurgerKing formulates its policies and strategies after analyzing the moves of its competitors, whether it is about price policies, marketing policies, or any other policies. As a result, its market shares do not decrease. BurgerKing focuses on large scale production. It focuses on franchising to expand its market shares and increase its customers which will increase its scale of production. As a result, there is a slight decrease in the cost of production which acts as an entry barrier for prospective competition, and present competitors. BurgerKing also spends a lot on Research and Development in order to add value to its products. They continue to research, innovate, test and add things in it’s menu like Double whoppers with bacon and chicken fries, etc. BurgerKing offers many food items which are healthy and full of nutrients and customers have the autonomy to choose items like salads, hamburgers or milk with Happy meals as per their Nutritional requirements.

These are some of the main elements BurgerKing uses when combating its competition.
