Make sure to use professional grammar and punctuation in this college level course in all correspondence. Please avoid “text” or “twitter speak” when corresponding. And your own thinking.
Take a look at the collection called: “Unseen Forces”. Comment on the ‘composition’ of one painting that you think best describes your comments on composition. ‘Composition’ is the underlying “structure” or organization of a painting.Think of a house – the underlying structure are the wood beams defining the sizes and shapes of spaces, rooms, etc…
Composition is different from the subject matter of a painting. Every painting, whether abstract or representational, regardless of subject matter, has a composition. Good composition is essential to the success of a painting. Done successfully, good composition draws the viewer in and then moves the viewer’s eye across the whole painting so that everything is taken in, finally settling on the main subject of the painting.
The composition of a painting is usually a pleasing arrangement of people/shapes/objects in a painting that conveys the artist’s intentions. Say why you chose a particular painting and comment on other student’s selections.
After you type your initial post, then read through the other entries and reply directly to at least two classmates
