VIET AGAINST THE WAR
Vietnam has been a French colony for decades, it becomes independent after the agreement held in Geneva in 1954. From then on, the country is temporarily divided: North Vietnam which was ruled by the Communist Viet Minh, and non-Communist South Vietnam which was controlled by Ngo Dinh Diem supported by the American Administration. In fact, the Vietnam War was fight against the rapid rise of communism in the region . After the announcement of the “Tonkin gulf” incident, the United States decided to intervene to support its ally in the region, South Vietnam which was attacked by the communist power of the North support by Soviet Union and China, knowing that the region will be invaded by communism, if Sud Vietnam Pro-American territory was defeating,or falling. Vietnam veterans who are quite experienced people on the war field in Vietnam knew that the battle that Americans started would be a failure. they started anti-war movements, they believed that, this war was based on lies, and fakes, American people were not sufficiently informed of the realities of the war, against atrocities that their soldiers were suffering during the conflict. Returning from Vietnam war, veterans were considered as delinquents, drug addicts, savages, instead of being considered as heroes of the nation, they were humiliated. However, student demonstrations in Vietnam were considered hippies and not violent. The “Anti-War” protest movement initiated by the veterans has been more aggressive and violent due to their active participation as soldiers. Nowadays, enrolling in the military in the United States is voluntary. However, American civilians are aware of their work, they regularly bring them their help in sign of recognition. Nowadays, those who fight under the flags are heroes. for that, it has become very difficult to organize anti-war movements even less humiliated a veterans . In order to weaken, slow down, eliminate its adversary, the United States uses a chemical product “Agent Orange” However, a new weapon had direct consequences on the vegetation and the health of individuals who lived in Vietnam. This new strategy also had serious consequences on American veterans who were engaged in the battle in Vietnam. It is important for honest and conscious American citizens to respect, honor those who fight night and day for our security, and our well being. We must also accompany them for their reintegration as a civilian.

Vets Against War
The Vietnam War was a war meant to help prevent the spread of communism. Underestimating the enemy, the United States Government was led to believe they were able to easily defeat the communist. Vietnam Veterans were against the war because they were fighting a war that could not be won along with deceiving the American people and covering up barbaric acts that were being committed by the military. Upon returning from war Vietnam Veterans were portrayed as being psychotic drug addicts and baby killers, instead of war heroes. Student protestors during Vietnam were considered peaceful hippie protestors. Whereas protest by veterans were a bit more forceful and aggressive. I believe the antiwar was more active due to the participation by soldiers. Today Americans join the military on a voluntary basis and generally have a strong support system from Americans who decide not to join, leaving anti war meetings and organization groups to seem rare now days. Agent Orange is a powerful chemical mixture that was used by the Unites States military as part of herbicidal warfare program. The purpose of this chemical Agent Orange was to eliminates the forest and plant life in Vietnam to reduce their resources. Until recently the United States denied that Agent Orange can be responsible for effects on health and lead to birth defects. I am grateful that so many men and women volunteer to join our military services. Military participants endure challenging obstacles and situations from the start to the finish of their time served, some even giving their own lives so that we can continue to live freely in a world that we know. With that said I do feel Americans have an obligation to soldiers once they have left the service. We are in debt to them for what they have chosen to do for us. However, I do not believe the obligation should be an indefinite debt. I think there should be guidelines, money, and process in place to help our soldiers adapt back into civilian life. Once given an adequate amount time and mental, physical, and financial assistance necessary to adapt, soldiers should be expected to work just as the rest of society if they are able.
It has been many years since the Vietnam War occurred, and I cannot help but wonder is Orange Agent truly still a health threat to those in Vietnam?
